This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive user experiences for gaiia’s operational platform, ranging from initial concepts and prototypes to finalized, deployed UI.

• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to clarify ambiguous challenges into well-defined scopes, effective interaction models, and sustainable design choices.

• Leverage research and rapid iteration to simplify, accelerate, and enhance the reliability of complex workflows.

• Develop and enhance our design system to ensure teams can deliver consistently high-quality experiences as the product expands.

• Work alongside QA to review and test, providing clear specifications, edge cases, and acceptance criteria.

• Thoughtfully incorporate AI to explore additional options, validate decisions more quickly, and amplify the impact of your contributions.

• Elevate standards for craftsmanship, accessibility, and clarity—focusing on the details that make software intuitive and seamless.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in product design, supported by a portfolio that demonstrates strong craftsmanship and clear thought processes.

• Proven experience in designing intricate B2B web applications, particularly within operational areas such as Billing & Notifications, CRM, Product Catalog, Inventory/Fulfillment, Network & Geo, and platform tooling (including AI-driven product surfaces).

• Skilled in modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, FigJam) and comfortable integrating AI tools into your workflow (e.g., Claude) along with user testing instruments.

• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, with the capability to transform customer needs into straightforward, high-quality experiences.

• Experience in planning and conducting research (interviews, usability testing) and utilizing insights for iterative improvements.

• Familiarity with mixed-method research, experimentation (A/B testing), and agile product development methodologies.

• Ability to communicate clearly and structurally, fostering alignment between design, product, and engineering teams.

• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, highly iterative environments where concepts evolve through collaborative dialogue and shared efforts.

• Possess an ownership mindset and developing leadership skills: taking accountability for results, presenting a perspective, aligning partners, and ensuring follow-through.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the skill to switch contexts across various projects.

• Receptive to feedback, demonstrating a willingness to refine, reconsider, and reimagine your work.

• A Bachelor’s degree in user experience design or a related field is desirable.
