Product Designer, AI Design Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take charge of product design initiatives with considerable autonomy.

• Evaluate current product interfaces to pinpoint inconsistencies, redundancies, and areas for enhanced systemization.

• Establish and refine a unified visual language that elevates quality and consistency across the product.

• Develop and sustain responsive, adaptable, variant-based component libraries in Figma.

• Transform research, user experience intentions, and product requirements into refined visual designs, workflows, and interaction patterns.

• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ensure design integrity throughout the implementation process.

• Help organize design tokens, component specifications, naming conventions, and documentation to be clear, reusable, and machine-readable when suitable.

• Produce documentation that minimizes ambiguity for both human collaborators and AI-assisted development processes.

• Anticipate the evolution of design systems as AI design and coding tools advance.

• Constantly enhance the methods for capturing, communicating, and transitioning design decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in product design for web applications, SaaS solutions, design systems, or intricate digital products.

• A portfolio demonstrating strong systems thinking, product judgment, and high-caliber visual execution.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted design or prototyping tools.

• Extensive background in building and upkeeping design systems.

• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including variables, component properties, Auto Layout, and documentation best practices.

• Comprehensive understanding of how structured design systems facilitate implementation across contemporary frontend environments.

• Experience collaborating closely with engineers and effectively communicating design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong aesthetic judgment, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• A proactive, ownership-oriented work approach with the capacity to advance projects independently.
