This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide legal counsel to Stripe's product and engineering teams on various matters related to Stripe's software solutions, such as Stripe Revenue Suite, Stripe Profiles, and Stripe Atlas.
• Collaborate extensively with different teams at Stripe, including engineering, partnerships, privacy, and security, to offer pragmatic and actionable legal advice throughout the product development lifecycle – from initial scoping to launch.
• Draft, review, and revise foundational terms and documents for both internal and external aspects of Stripe’s products and service offerings.
• Keep informed about laws and regulations concerning consumer financial data access, supported by Stripe’s legal subject matter experts; analyze legal developments, regulatory updates, and industry trends to proactively advise clients on potential product implications.
• Act as a proactive business partner to your product team, cultivating a trusted advisor relationship by providing essential legal and strategic business insights that contribute to the evolution of Stripe and its product roadmap and strategy.
• Over 5 years of proven experience as a qualified lawyer in a leading law firm or within an in-house legal team for technology companies, particularly concerning the laws applicable to cloud-based API service providers and the legal and regulatory aspects of product development in the tech sector.
• A strong proficiency and enthusiasm for engaging with technology, with the ability to swiftly grasp complex operational and business models along with various product use cases.
• A self-motivated individual who excels in a fast-paced environment, adeptly managing multiple work streams and priorities efficiently.
• An individual with an ownership mentality, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and known for exercising excellent judgment and making decisions amid limited information.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively across functions with a sense of urgency while maintaining a highly cooperative and enjoyable work atmosphere.
• Exceptional project management and organizational abilities to stay ahead of shifting priorities, thriving under tight deadlines.
• A background in technology law coupled with excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
