Product Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Act as the strategic legal advisor for product teams entering new international markets.

• Recognize jurisdiction-specific risks early on by implementing scalable compliance frameworks.

• Ensure that legal requirements are well-defined and actionable for product, engineering, and design teams.

• Enhance cross-functional legal processes to minimize response time for recurring legal inquiries.

• Proactively oversee documented risk frameworks and establish clear escalation paths.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a prestigious law school with an active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.

• Over 5 years of legal experience at a prominent law firm or within an in-house legal department.

• Knowledge of legal matters in the Internet and e-commerce sectors, including copyright, privacy, advertising, payments, and SaaS.

• Ability to deliver clear and concise legal counsel while driving results across various functions.

• Demonstrated capacity to handle competing priorities across multiple teams in a dynamic environment.

• Proficiency in utilizing AI tools to enhance efficiency and streamline legal processes.
