This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Correspondent and show teams to create, report, and deliver visually engaging stories.

• Propose, field produce, write, and fact-check news stories for NBC News linear and streaming platforms.

• Generate daily news, long-form articles, and cross-platform content.

• Conduct original research, perform in-depth reporting, and carry out source interviews.

• Arrange guest bookings, execute pre-interviews, and develop talking points.

• Be prepared to travel on short notice and remain on the road as necessary for story coverage.

• Work in conjunction with control rooms, senior producers, and editorial teams to create rundowns, draft introductions, and produce both live and recorded segments.

• Manage field operations, including live shots, remote anchor setups, and breaking news coverage.

• Monitor and organize the Correspondent’s schedule.

• Collaborate with editors to guarantee high-quality video packages, graphics, and audio.

• Partner with Standards & Legal to ensure adherence to editorial and corporate content guidelines.

• Facilitate communication among the Correspondent, senior leadership, assignment desk, and production teams.

• Contribute ideas for daily news, lifestyle features, celebrity interviews, and human interest stories.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in network news, cable, or talk show production, encompassing both live and taped segments.

• Excellent journalistic writing, research, and editorial judgment abilities.

• Proven knowledge of U.S. politics, current events, pop culture, and lifestyle trends.

• Experience with shooting using DSLR cameras or iPhones.

• Proficiency in editing with Avid and/or Adobe Premiere.

• Strong capability to navigate newsroom tools and technologies, including Slack, NCX, and Latakoo.

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.

• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime on short notice.

• Readiness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.

• Capable of managing sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

• Strong storytelling skills and creativity in proposing original ideas.

• Experience working with live programming.

• Ability to effectively manage breaking news situations under pressure.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Familiarity with NBC News Policies, Guidelines, and Practices.
