Procurement Director – Chemicals

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the complete procurement process for fragrance oils, aroma chemicals, essential oils, and related raw materials.

• Cultivate and sustain robust connections with both domestic and international suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors.

• Utilize existing industry relationships or swiftly establish new ones to enhance pricing, reliability, and supply continuity.

• Identify and assess new sourcing partners to broaden the supply base and mitigate risk concentration.

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and supply agreements with vendors.

• Continuously monitor supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, consistency, and compliance.

• Serve as the internal expert on procurement strategies within the fragrance and chemical domains.

• Propose and implement a well-defined sourcing roadmap and procurement best practices.

• Handle proprietary and sensitive supplier relationships with discretion and professionalism.

• Collaborate closely with leadership to ensure procurement decisions align with growth and margin objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in procurement, sourcing, or purchasing within the fragrance chemicals, aroma chemicals, essential oils, or related chemical industries.

• Demonstrated experience in directly managing supplier relationships (rather than solely operational purchasing roles).

• Established network or “rolodex” of suppliers, manufacturers, or brokers in the fragrance and chemical market is highly preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of the fragrance/raw materials supply chain, including global sourcing, pricing dynamics, and quality standards.

• Capability to work independently without a large team or a structured procurement department.

• Strong negotiation skills with a background in managing complex supplier agreements.

• A strategic mindset paired with a readiness to handle daily procurement tasks.

• Comfortable in a high-ownership position where function-building is integral to the role.
