This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Acquire goods and manage low-dollar, low-risk, low-complexity purchase orders.
• Report directly to the Procurement Manager.
• Source, negotiate, and procure IT hardware and software, fabricated components, machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, supplies, and incidental services.
• Prepare RFQ/Ps and bid packages according to prime contract specifications.
• Issue and maintain purchase orders to support SAIC customers, including DOD, Federal, and Civilian Agencies.
• Compile and analyze statistical data to evaluate buying feasibility and set price targets.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics.
• Track pricing trends and manufacturing processes.
• Assess opportunities to optimize material procurement.
• Negotiate with suppliers and analyze their operations to achieve favorable pricing while ensuring quality, reliability, and adherence to schedules.
• Review proposals and negotiate terms for purchase orders and contracts.
• Select or recommend suppliers and follow up on order fulfillment.
• Verify deliveries, authorize payments, and maintain necessary records.
• Review license agreements and collaborate with requesters, legal, cybersecurity, and privacy teams to mitigate risks.
• Conclude procurement activities and manage supplier/customer relationships.
• Suggest improvements to procurement processes and procedures.
• Address routine issues within established policies and procedures.
• Take on additional responsibilities to support departmental goals and objectives.
• Bachelor’s Degree, or an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Experience with procurement and material ordering processes is essential.
• Excellent time management skills are a must.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to communicate effectively across various levels of staff and customers/vendors.
• A strong team player is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Desired: Experience in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a technical field.
• Desired: Advanced skills in Excel.
• Desired: Advanced skills in Word.
