This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide support for Process Hazard Analysis studies, which includes preparing, facilitating, and documenting PHA studies using various methodologies (What-If, Checklist, FMEA, HAZOP, HAZID, etc.) and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
• Choose the appropriate PHA methodology based on the complexity of the process and the associated hazards.
• Ensure that PHA scenarios, consequences, safeguards, and recommendations are accurately identified and documented within the PHA software (PHAPro or similar).
• Draft and review technical reports.
• Interpret and analyze piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), mechanical drawings, process flow diagrams, block flow diagrams, and electrical line diagrams.
• Understand and adhere to DEKRA and client-specific procedures.
• Capable of conducting PHAs and/or training sessions both in-person and virtually.
• Maintain effective and ongoing communication with clients and the consulting team.
• Work collaboratively with a team on projects as well as independently on tasks.
• Conduct technical reviews for peers, which may include marketing papers, presentations, reports, etc.
• Engage directly with clients, demonstrating a proven ability to build and sustain positive and professional client relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Fire Protection) or another safety-related discipline.
• Formal training in various PHA methodologies and LOPA is preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Experience in facilitating PHAs within the Oil & Gas Industry is advantageous.
• Preferred safety-related designations include CSP, CFEI, CCPSC, PE, etc.
• At least 5 years of experience in process safety management is required.
• Strong knowledge and experience in safety-related areas (PSM, RMP, combustible dust, chemical reaction hazards, flammable liquids/gases, etc.) are preferred.
• Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations (NFPA, Building & Fire Codes, OSHA, etc.) is preferred.
• Excellent personal communication and leadership abilities.
• Must excel under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to deliver reports and analysis documents within strict deadlines.
• Required Travel: This position mandates travel up to 50%, which may include international travel.
• Compensation: hourly professional fees based on confirmed project work.
