Process Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with the Formulation team throughout the development process to gain a comprehensive understanding of each formula, including functional ingredients, excipients, specifications, and product claims.

• Identify formulation “levers” that can be modified to enhance manufacturability while preserving product performance, quality, specifications, and claims.

• Understand the equipment, capabilities, and limitations of each contract manufacturer to ensure formulas are tailored for effective production.

• Evaluate excipients and processing aids that could boost manufacturing efficiency, flowability, mixing, filling, stability, or overall process robustness.

• Convert formulation requirements into actionable manufacturing guidance for powders and liquids.

• Assist in troubleshooting during scale-up, validation, and commercial production phases.

• Collaborate across functions with Formulation, Quality, Operations, Procurement, and Contract Manufacturing teams to address process and formula-related challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field is preferred.

• Experience as a Process Engineer working with powder and liquid formulations.

• Background in household cleaning, personal care, or similar consumer products is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of formulation, scale-up, and manufacturing processes.

• Ability to evaluate the equipment capabilities and limitations of contract manufacturers.

• Experience in troubleshooting production issues and suggesting practical formula or process adjustments.

• Familiarity with excipients, processing aids, and raw materials that facilitate manufacturability.

• Proficient in balancing manufacturability, product claims, specifications, quality, and cost considerations.
