Process Controls Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with clients, vendors, and cross-functional internal teams to identify Process Control requirements and solutions.

• Assist Project Managers and Process Engineers in estimating the efforts for controls hardware and engineering tasks.

• Partner with Electrical Designers to specify components for controls hardware and create electrical wiring diagrams.

• Assess electrical installation documents for technical precision and verify that the design fulfills the controls requirements.

• Compose Functional Descriptions that outline the operational procedures of control systems.

• Develop and validate PLC programs in accordance with the Functional Descriptions.

• Conduct onsite IO checks during the commissioning phase.

• Commission PLC programs onsite until the systems are fully operational, including performing maintenance and providing operator training.

• Carry out other related responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or chemical engineering.

• 5 years of experience in Process Controls within the Pulp and Paper or Food and Beverage sectors.

• Proficiency in programming legal PLCs and familiarity with USDA standards for pasteurizers.

• Expertise in Wonderware InTouch, Wonderware Archestra, and FactoryTalk HMI development.

• Experience in designing controls system networks utilizing Ethernet.

• Background in Food & Beverage Manufacturing.
