Pro Fee Coding Educator – Special Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct manual audits based on concerns related to providers, clients, or coding, starting with a 30-chart probe to identify possible discrepancies in documentation or coding.

• Present audit findings and summaries to the director overseeing the client and implement necessary corrections.

• Recognize and detail educational opportunities within audits to ensure discrepancies are addressed (although direct provider education is usually managed by compliance or Ensemble’s education team, this may evolve as our team progresses).

• Collaborate effectively within a small, agile team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and manage workloads efficiently.

• Conduct research confidently when uncertain about coding scenarios and proactively ask questions to ensure accuracy.

• Precisely abstract codes from progress notes, procedure notes, and operative notes.

• Contribute to the refinement of workflows and processes as the team continues to establish best practices.

• Engage in a 90–120-day smart training program to develop proficiency in our audit workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of coding and educational experience in a Professional Fee Coding or consulting environment, with a preference for specialties in Cardiology, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, or Ob GYN.

• Advanced coding expertise in E&M leveling, surgical, and in-office procedures.

• Strong grasp of documentation and coding compliance.

• Capability to analyze intricate coding scenarios and pinpoint areas for enhancement.

• Experience in auditing and education, along with the ability to effectively communicate findings.

• A confident researcher who is comfortable seeking guidance and clarification when necessary.

• Proficient in navigating or learning various EHR systems efficiently.

• Self-driven and adaptable, thriving in a developing team environment.
