Privacy Student Worker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Automating, triaging, diagnosing, and resolving web compatibility challenges arising from Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection.

• Taking ownership of, delivering, prototyping, or enhancing smaller-scale privacy-focused initiatives such as Copy Clean Link.

• Enhancing the Protections UI, Site Identity, Site Permissions, and Certificate Errors interfaces across Firefox.

• Streamlining and refining telemetry dashboards.

• Addressing tracking, security, or privacy concerns (Bug 791594).

• Collaborating with and gaining insights from senior engineers to implement more intricate projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with a focus on security, privacy, or software development.

• Excellent communication abilities and proficiency in English.

• A genuine interest in performing software engineering tasks in an open environment.

• Fundamental understanding of core web technologies and a high-level awareness of browser functionality.

• A strong understanding of, and enthusiasm for, privacy and security on the internet.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ or JavaScript.

• A passion for learning and delivering foundational work across the entire technology stack.
