This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance SUSE’s privacy governance framework, ensuring that data protection is integrated throughout the enterprise ecosystem.

• Identify and manage privacy risks effectively.

• Create technical privacy standards and guidelines for data minimization, pseudonymization, and encryption, both at rest and in transit.

• Sustain SUSE’s Privacy Information Management System (PIMS) with a keen emphasis on data governance and technical lineage.

• Conduct privacy-by-design (PbD) assessments during the architectural design phase of cloud services and internal IT systems.

• Deploy privacy-enhancing technologies and organizational measures to reduce privacy risks at a structural level.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity architects to ensure that "security of processing" aligns with "privacy-by-default" requirements.

• Analyze complex vendor contracts and architecture from both a legal and technical due diligence standpoint.

• Remain updated on "code is law" principles and emerging privacy-tech trends, translating these into governance requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in law (preferably in EU law) or a related discipline.

• 3+ years of experience in privacy or compliance roles.

• Profound knowledge of GDPR and related privacy regulations.

• Familiarity with ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and SOC 2 standards.

• Proficiency in English (B2/C1 or higher).

• Strong grasp of privacy by design and by default principles.

• Understanding of the “code is law” concept.

• Knowledge of architectural frameworks (e.g., SABSA, TOGAF, or Zachman) and their application to privacy.

• Experience in supporting AI governance, conducting model risk assessments, or engaging in responsible AI review processes.

• Understanding of zero trust architecture and its implications for data privacy and access control.

• Familiarity with the audit process.

• Ability to assess technical documentation and infrastructure diagrams for potential privacy risks.

• Certifications such as CIPT (Certified Information Privacy Technologist) or CDPSE (Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer) are advantageous.
