Privacy Counsel – I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Provide counsel on privacy assessments and product-related issues.

• Develop and contribute to training materials, playbooks, and FAQ resources for various teams.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on data privacy law, offering strategic legal guidance.

• Track and advise on privacy legislation and regulatory changes.

• Take the lead in formulating and revising internal policies and procedures.

• Evaluate marketing initiatives to ensure adherence to data protection regulations.

• Support the Privacy Program and risk management activities.

• Assist in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating terms related to privacy and data security within contracts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to a state bar.

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in-house or at a law firm, focusing on data privacy issues.

• Thorough understanding of data privacy laws, including CCPA, TCPA, and CAN-SPAM.

• Experience providing guidance on direct-to-consumer products and marketing strategies.

• Background in cross-functional compliance.

• Proficient in drafting and negotiating data protection agreements.

• Experience in the healthcare sector is advantageous.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Eagerness to take ownership of and lead projects from inception to completion.
