This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in managing the organization's Privacy Program through the administration of privacy incident management, breach response, privacy investigations, HIPAA compliance efforts, and continuous privacy monitoring.
• Oversee the intake, investigation, documentation, and resolution processes for privacy incidents.
• Perform HIPAA breach risk assessments and aid in breach notification activities.
• Prepare documentation that aligns with regulatory reporting obligations.
• Supervise corrective actions stemming from privacy investigations.
• Execute privacy assessments, audits, and monitoring tasks.
• Assess adherence to HIPAA Privacy Rule requirements and organizational policies.
• Evaluate privacy controls and propose enhancements.
• Assist in the development and upkeep of privacy policies, procedures, standards, and guidance documents.
• Facilitate privacy training and awareness programs.
• Identify recurring privacy challenges and suggest systemic improvements.
• Engage in enterprise initiatives that incorporate privacy-by-design principles into operational processes and technology implementations.
• Create privacy dashboards, metrics, and trend analyses.
• Track privacy incidents, breaches, investigations, and corresponding corrective actions.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and assist with the implementation of privacy-related mandates.
• Support both internal and external privacy audits as well as regulatory reviews.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Corporate Compliance and Privacy.
• Comprehensive understanding of the HIPAA Privacy Rule, HITECH, and healthcare privacy regulations.
• Proven experience in conducting privacy investigations and breach risk assessments.
• Capacity to evaluate the effectiveness of controls and recommend preventive strategies.
• Familiarity with privacy monitoring, auditing, and compliance assessment methodologies.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and investigative capabilities.
• Exceptional written communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
• Three to five years of experience in healthcare privacy, HIPAA compliance, compliance investigations, health information management, or a related discipline.
• Experience in conducting HIPAA privacy assessments, audits, investigations, and breach response activities.
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Experience in evaluating privacy controls and implementing corrective actions is preferred.
• Relevant privacy certifications such as CHPC, CHPS, RHIA, RHIT, CIPP/US, or others are preferred.
• Flexible remote work arrangement.
• Competitive base salary ranging from $77,500 to $102,600.
