This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Acts as the representative of the company to both external and internal customers, addressing product-related inquiries and potentially connecting customers with the appropriate support or field personnel.
• Oversees a team of prior authorization specialists, taking responsibility for the recruitment and training of team members.
• Directs, guides, and supervises the operations of a remote team accustomed to working independently.
• Conducts regular performance evaluations and provides constructive feedback to direct reports.
• Develops training materials and educational resources for internal stakeholders.
• Has the authority to make decisions regarding hiring, termination, promotions, and rewards within the designated area.
• Ensures compliance with Medtronic's Corporate Operating Policies and Code of Conduct, along with policies governing data management, customer communication requirements, collateral materials, and the protection of patient information.
• Remains accessible to staff for support in resolving escalated complaints from healthcare providers and patients.
• Collaborates with leadership to identify, monitor, and analyze customer complaints and insurance-related issues, taking proactive measures to mitigate future occurrences.
• Addresses daily work-related inquiries concerning policies, procedures, systems, and processes, assisting team members in troubleshooting issues.
• Provides backup support to other teams as needed.
• Identifies opportunities and initiates processes aimed at enhancing service levels for both internal and external customers.
• Aids in the development and authorization of Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and other supporting materials, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
• Functions effectively in a fast-paced environment characterized by frequent interruptions and distractions.
• Onboards new healthcare provider accounts, extending a warm welcome to the Medtronic PAS Program.
• Acknowledges both team and individual contributions to patient care and the program.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
• Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 5 years of relevant experience, an Associate's degree with 3 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of Customer Service Supervisory experience, or 3 years of Customer Service experience.
• Experience in customer service, patient access, or a related field within medical devices, medtech, healthcare, or life sciences is essential.
• Nice to have: Master’s Degree.
• Familiarity with or experience in the managed care and health insurance sector, particularly concerning prior authorization services.
• Customer-facing experience in either a call center or sales environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of procedural and device coding along with payment systems within the US market is advantageous.
• Experience in reviewing commercial coverage policies and Medicare payment regulations is necessary.
• For degrees obtained outside of the United States, a credential that fulfills the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
