This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Offer assistance for SIP and TDM-based soft switch translations, facilities, and features on the Metaswitch Call Agent, Media Gateways, Enhanced Application Servers, and SBCs.
• Daily maintenance and updates of LERG.
• Significant experience in supporting central office switching and softswitch platforms, including legacy TDM systems (e.g., Nortel DMS-100, Lucent 5ESS) and contemporary VoIP/SIP infrastructures.
• Profound knowledge of SS7, SIP, PRI, media gateways, and session border controllers, covering trunk provisioning, call routing, E911, and inter-carrier interconnects.
• Demonstrated capability to diagnose end-to-end voice issues across TDM and IP transport layers, ensuring high availability in geographically redundant central office settings.
• Assist Product Engineering with systems architecture planning, system implementation guidelines, and engineering protocols.
• Conduct lab testing, design, and architecture tasks.
• Design new VoIP products and features.
• Collaborate with vendors, evaluate suitable product offerings, and develop new products and services for the network.
• Test and approve new product sets.
• Provide technical support and assistance to other Service Management teams.
• Support management with high-priority projects and prepare technical presentations.
• Provide off-hours, on-call, and weekend coverage as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as required to support the business and its evolving needs.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 15 years of experience in a Class 4/5 TDM, softswitch, or hybrid central office environment, with extensive experience in Metaswitch and familiarity with platforms such as BroadSoft, Lucent 5ESS, Nortel DMS, and GENBAND G6.
• Experience with hosted and cloud-based voice applications and services.
• Proficient in network monitoring, management, and troubleshooting using various tools, including Packet Sniffer utilities, Wireshark, and Metaswitch SAS.
• Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure IP networks.
• In-depth knowledge of feature delivery in a hosted VoIP environment (hosted services, SIP trunking, PRI trunking via IAD, VoIP CPE, enhanced business features, etc.).
• Comprehensive understanding of VoIP protocols, SIP signaling with emphasis on RTP and SDP, network QoS, IP routing, Ethernet switching (including 802.11q, 802.11p, 802.3af), and packet tagging mechanisms.
