Principal UX Designer

Posted Jun 20

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the UX design process from start to finish for the Bluehost Group portal interfaces, including the post-login experiences across various digital platforms.

• Guide design decisions from identifying customer issues to producing high-fidelity deliverables — encompassing journey mapping, interaction design, and comprehensive handoff to development with detailed specifications and annotations.

• Actively contribute to the Bluehost design system by creating reusable components, interaction patterns, and templates that can be applied across the portal.

• Collaborate with Product Managers to evaluate low-fidelity prototypes prior to high-fidelity development, ensuring that design efforts are rooted in customer challenges and measurable results.

• Facilitate design critique and peer review sessions, elevating the quality of work within the UX team, regardless of individual project ownership.

• Work collaboratively across departments with engineering, product management, and customer experience research to deliver solutions that enhance activation, engagement, and retention.

• Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility standards, meet interaction quality expectations, and comply with the design system.

• Proactively integrate AI tools into your design process, utilizing AI for layout ideation, UX copy generation, component recommendations, and competitive analysis to expedite the transition to high-fidelity designs.

• Embrace and advocate for design-to-code workflows (such as Claude Design, Figma MCP, Cursor) and share reusable AI-enhanced patterns and experiments with the wider design team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in UX/product design, with a robust portfolio showcasing complex logged-in or SaaS product interfaces.

• Extensive knowledge of modern design system tools.

• Experience in designing for web hosting, CMS, or products aimed at small to medium-sized businesses is advantageous.

• A strong systems thinker — you create design patterns rather than just individual screens.

• Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders and overlapping workstreams.

• Proven experience collaborating directly with Product Managers and engineering teams within an agile delivery framework.

• Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities — you can clearly and confidently articulate design decisions to senior leadership.
