Principal Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• The Systems Engineer will oversee the design and implementation of public safety solutions for Motorola’s ASTRO 25 and related technologies, aimed at State and Local government agencies.

• Responsible for the design and implementation of the radio network, which includes infrastructure, subscriber systems, mobile backhaul, as well as WAN and CEN networks.

• Engage in extensive customer and consultant interactions, which involve customer design reviews, staging and acceptance testing witnessed by customers, coverage acceptance testing, live system upgrades, and troubleshooting activities.

• Manage system buildout, configuration, and acceptance testing in both laboratory staging and field environments.

• Conduct radio coverage testing, frequency analysis, and interference mitigation efforts.

• Handle radio system licensing with the FCC and other industry-related processes.

• Prepare system fleet maps, encryption, and radio programming templates.

• Ensure complete documentation of the systems.

• Oversee live system cutovers and upgrades.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technical discipline is required.

• A minimum of 7 years of engineering or technical experience OR a total of 10 years of relevant experience.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely.

• Familiarity with Motorola ASTRO 25 architecture is considered a plus.

• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, CCNA, or similar are advantageous.
