Principal Structural Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee structural design initiatives from initial concept through to final design, ensuring they align with the objectives and requirements set by project managers.

• Create structural specifications and data sheets for packaged equipment in accordance with project scope.

• Prepare and manage Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), conduct technical bid evaluations, and provide well-informed purchasing recommendations.

• Review and assess structural vendor drawings to confirm compliance with project specifications.

• Facilitate and relay technical information among suppliers, clients, and interdisciplinary engineering teams.

• Work collaboratively with detailers and designers to guarantee accurate interpretation and execution of structural designs.

• Perform quality reviews of production drawings across various projects to ensure precision and adherence to established standards.

• Verify and apply necessary corrections utilizing multiple CAD platforms, ensuring design integrity and uniformity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a focus on structural emphasis.

• At least 8 years of experience, preferably in a similar firm – EPC project experience is advantageous.

• Capability to prepare structural calculation sheets, detailed construction drawings, and associated AutoCAD files, including markups and coordination via Bluebeam.

• Proficient in structural analysis and design software such as RISA Foundation, RISA-3D, SAP, along with familiarity with geotechnical/structural software (e.g., LPILE or similar).

• A Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license is preferred but not mandatory.

• Sound knowledge of structural design codes (e.g., IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE7).
