Principal Specialist, Procurement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee the sourcing and procurement of materials and services for DoD, FMS, and DCS clientele.

• Manage supplier performance throughout the entire purchase order life cycle, which includes supplier development, solicitation of requirements, award of purchase orders, post-award management, and closeout processes.

• Cultivate and maintain supplier relationships to support the material needs of the factory.

• Prepare and distribute requests for proposals (RFPs).

• Execute low to medium complexity purchase orders in compliance with FAR/DFARS and corporate policies.

• Assist in developing negotiation strategies and engage in formal negotiations concerning price, delivery, scope, and terms and conditions.

• Conduct price and cost analysis for proposals.

• Foster professional business relationships with first-tier subcontractors.

• Collaborate with Program, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Program Management teams.

• Maintain purchase orders to ensure accurate and timely information regarding supplier deliveries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline with at least 3 years of experience.

• Relevant background in procurement, supply chain management, management, finance, or a similar field.

• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or have the ability to obtain necessary export authorizations.

• Preferred experience in SAP/PRISM-based environments.

• Preferred experience in reviewing Statements of Work and technical requirements for procured hardware and services.

• Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS) is preferred.

• Preferred experience with written contractual authorizations/vehicles, such as Cost Plus and Firm Fixed Price contracts.
