This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee the US Customs Entry Management process, ensuring the review and updating of customs information, including opportunities for duty mitigation.
• Conduct analysis of customs data to strategically address tariff impacts and implement duty mitigation programs such as Free Trade Agreements, the Civil Aircraft program, and Duty Drawback.
• Coordinate the collection of supporting documentation for post-entry claims.
• Organize, prepare, and evaluate Value Reconciliation submissions with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
• Draft responses to CBP CF28 Requests for Information and other inquiries related to customs.
• Support the Customs Manager and Customs team with projects, tactical activities, strategic initiatives, training, and other customs-related tasks as necessary.
• Keep abreast of changes in U.S. customs regulations, tariffs, trade agreements, and CBP requirements, ensuring compliance for the company and recommending process enhancements.
• Availability to work from the nearest Collins site when necessary for collaboration.
• Generally requires a University Degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, CBP procedures, and import compliance.
• Familiarity and previous involvement with trade measures enacted under section 122 and section 232.
• Experience with U.S. duty mitigation programs, including Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), Duty Drawback, and the Civil Aircraft Program.
• Proficiency in U.S. post-entry processes, such as post summary corrections, value reconciliation, and FTA reconciliation.
• Experience with importer data review, the U.S. Customs ACE system, and U.S. Customs broker portals.
• Skilled in Microsoft 365 Office applications, with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
• 5 years of customs experience, preferably within the aerospace sector.
• Licensed U.S. Customs Broker is highly preferred.
• Background in duty mitigation analysis.
• Familiarity with SAP/GTS or other ERP applications.
