Principal Solutions Architect – Quantum-Safe Networks

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create quantum-safe target architectures and migration strategies for customer networks, encompassing WAN and transport, data centers, campus environments, segmentation and access control, key management, and cryptography.

• Facilitate technical discovery and architecture workshops with network, security, and infrastructure teams.

• Evaluate customers’ current conditions, pinpoint vulnerabilities in existing cryptography, and develop actionable migration plans.

• Manage the technical aspects of intricate pursuits, including architecture proposals, responses to RFI/RFPs, security and compliance inquiries, competitive positioning, and overcoming objections.

• Design and execute proofs of concept, interoperability tests, and pilot programs related to PQC, hybrid key exchange, and QKD-integrated links as applicable.

• Convert field insights into reference architectures, migration playbooks, interoperability matrices, and design documentation.

• Act as the customer advocate in Product and Engineering, articulating architectural limitations, integration challenges, and roadmap necessities.

• Monitor standards and the threat landscape, including NIST PQC guidelines, IETF protocol developments, and national or sector-specific mandates.

• Collaborate with Marketing, Corporate Communications, and GTM on presentations, publications, blogs, standards bodies, and industry conferences.

• Elevate the technical standards through architecture reviews, mentoring, and the creation of reusable design patterns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in designing and securing enterprise and/or service provider networks in solutions architecture, network architecture, security architecture, or senior customer-facing engineering roles.

• Extensive hands-on expertise in routing and switching, IP transport, network segmentation, firewall and access control design, VPN and network-layer encryption, and Zero Trust principles.

• Experience with multiple vendors, such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Nokia.

• Proficient understanding of TLS, IPsec, MACsec, PKI and certificate lifecycle management, key management, and practical adaptations of algorithms and key materials.

• Proven ability to lead customer workshops and architecture discussions with engineers, CISOs, and SVPs of Infrastructure.

• Familiarity with post-quantum cryptography, crypto-agility, quantum key distribution, and the challenges associated with network migration.

• Excellent written communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Willingness to travel up to 30%, primarily within the U.S., with occasional international travel.

• U.S. Person status or qualifying U.S. citizenship, nationality, permanent residency, refugee, or asylum status may be required for compliance with export controls and government contracts.
