This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define and uphold the comprehensive system architecture and technical roadmap for software solutions.
• Spearhead architectural design efforts across desktop applications, backend services, data processing systems, and integrations.
• Establish engineering standards, design patterns, and processes for technical governance.
• Assess technology stacks, frameworks, and third-party solutions to ensure they align with project goals.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with project leaders and stakeholders to convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Review and sanction significant architectural decisions, system designs, and implementation strategies.
• Identify technical risks and formulate mitigation strategies early in the development lifecycle.
• Assist with solution decomposition, backlog planning, and technical estimation tasks.
• Direct efforts related to system performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Ensure architectural consistency across various teams and workstreams.
• Engage in technical reviews, design evaluations, and major milestone demonstrations.
• Generally possesses a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with 10+ years of experience, or equivalent relevant professional experience; for instance, each year of work experience may substitute for a year of required education.
• Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• More than 5 years of experience in solution architecture, technical leadership, or principal engineering roles.
• Proven experience in designing and delivering complex enterprise software systems.
• Strong knowledge of modern software architecture patterns, including client-server, service-oriented, microservices, API-driven, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience in designing and supporting thick client desktop applications, such as Electron or similar desktop application frameworks.
• Solid understanding of backend technologies like Java, Python, C#/.NET, or Node.js.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and integration architectures.
• Strong grasp of software security principles and secure application design.
• Familiarity with Agile software development environments.
