Principal – Solution Owner Skillset

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Responsible for defining and implementing solutions that generate business value and meet client requirements.

• Links strategy to execution by converting business priorities into precise outcomes, delivery plans, and technically viable solutions.

• Collaborates closely with client stakeholders, delivery leaders, business analysts, and technical teams to shape solutions, align priorities, and ensure successful outcomes.

• Works in partnership with executive client stakeholders, delivery leadership, product managers, business analysts, and technical teams to determine solution direction, establish governance, and drive successful results.

• Utilizes strong product leadership, stakeholder management, and accountability for comprehensive solution delivery, which includes discovery, roadmap development, backlog ownership, and cross-functional alignment.

• Manages delivery planning, execution, and reporting for designated workstreams.

• Leads delivery across extensive, complex engagements with multiple workstreams; establishes governance models, operating rhythms, and stakeholder reporting frameworks to manage scale and interdependencies.

• Converts business objectives into implementable delivery plans and prioritizes workstreams accordingly.

• Conducts discovery with minimal client assistance; identifies pain points and opportunities, provides strategic recommendations that exceed client-defined needs, and outlines solution direction, roadmaps, and prioritized backlogs.

• Acts as the primary point of accountability for ensuring that delivered solutions align with client expectations.

• Holds responsibility for business outcomes and realized value at the program or portfolio level; leads executive sprint reviews, status updates, and decision-making forums; and develops business cases to support investment choices.

• Recognizes and mitigates delivery risks early; escalates issues as necessary.

• Oversees broader program risks, formulates mitigation strategies, and engages executive stakeholders when needed.

• Facilitates collaboration among business, technical, and product teams to guarantee delivery success.

• Serves as the Solution Owner for the Agile Release Train (ART), defining the solution vision and priorities, aligning multiple teams to business outcomes, and ensuring that product direction, scope, and sequencing deliver measurable value.

• Maintains delivery documentation, reporting, and communication with stakeholders.

• Supervises program-level reporting, distills insights for executive stakeholders, and ensures cohesive communication across all workstreams.

• Represents evolv and its clients at meetings and presentations regarding assigned projects.

• Engages in community and industry networking groups.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8-10 years of independent experience in leading delivery and stakeholder management.

• Over 10 years of experience in owning program-level delivery strategy and client engagement.

• Advanced expertise in product and solution ownership, including leading discovery, defining solution strategy, and managing roadmaps across complex programs or portfolios.

• Demonstrated ability to link business value to solution design, including developing business cases and offering strategic recommendations that extend beyond client-defined needs.

• Extensive knowledge of Agile governance and delivery frameworks (e.g., Scrum, SAFe), including operating model design and coordination across multiple workstreams.

• Ability to establish and implement program-level governance structures (cadence, reporting, escalation paths) to manage scale and interdependencies.

• Strong technical acumen to collaborate with architecture and engineering leaders on solution direction, feasibility, and trade-offs.

• Exceptional stakeholder leadership skills, including influencing executive stakeholders, facilitating decision-making forums, and acting as a trusted advisor.

• Strategic mindset with a history of driving value realization, defining success metrics, and ensuring alignment with business outcomes.

• Experience in establishing quality and delivery governance (acceptance criteria, UAT strategy, release readiness) across multiple teams.

• Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate program-level risks, dependencies, and gaps, and to drive mitigation strategies with leadership alignment.

• Strong communication and storytelling abilities to translate complex delivery insights into executive-level updates and recommendations.

• Familiarity with delivery methods: Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project delivery models.

• Experience in leading Agile Release Trains (ARTs), program increments (PI planning), and coordinating multi-team delivery.

• Proficiency in project tracking tools such as Jira, ADO, Confluence, MS Project, SharePoint, Power BI, or similar.
