Principal Solution Consultant – AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Drive strategic sales by promoting Workiva’s AI capabilities and governed platform.

• Assist in multiple complex pursuits through customized presentations and value-driven messaging.

• Establish Workiva’s strategic position within customers’ AI and data ecosystems.

• Collaborate with architects, AI/ML leaders, and C-level executives to define Workiva’s role in AI infrastructure.

• Concentrate on data governance, integration, and model orchestration.

• Position Workiva as the trusted system for machine-generated financial, sustainability, and risk data.

• Partner with Sales, Product, and InfoSec teams.

• Spearhead the AI technical agenda across pursuits from initial engagement to deal closure.

• Create reusable intellectual property, including patterns, talk tracks, and design guidance.

• Mentor fellow Solution Consultants.

• Lead technical discovery and alignment across Finance, GRC, Sustainability, IT, and Security teams.

• Map customer AI programs and pinpoint where the governed core fits in.

• Ensure safe and compliant integration.

• Prepare technical demonstrations.

• Develop customer AI reference architectures.

• Illustrate how Workiva’s API-first platform integrates into customer ecosystems.

• Share field insights with product, engineering, and leadership teams to influence the AI roadmap.

• Engage customers and partners as a public technical representative at industry events, through thought leadership, and during executive briefings.

• Travel up to 50% for customer visits, conferences, and company events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of technical, customer-facing experience in presales solution consulting, solution architecture, or technical consulting.

• At least 3 years specifically focused on enterprise AI architecture.

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.

• An advanced degree may be considered in place of professional experience.

• Hands-on knowledge of modern AI technologies, including RAG, agentic systems, MCP, and model selection/evaluation.

• Experience in enterprise data architecture.

• Proficiency in writing clean code for API interaction.

• Capability to perform technical testing for groundedness and quality.

• Understanding of AI governance frameworks, including NIST, ISO 42001, and the EU AI Act.

• Awareness of security risks such as prompt injection and exfiltration.

• Experience in establishing audit readiness for machine-generated outputs in regulated environments.

• Knowledge of corporate reporting, Finance, GRC, Sustainability, and the office of the CFO.

• Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, and Snowflake.

• Knowledge of relevant AWS, Azure, or AI certifications.

• Proven track record of articulating architectural visions to C-level executives.

• Experience in publicly representing a company through thought leadership and industry events.

• Reliable internet access for remote work, not based in a Workiva office.
