Principal Software Engineer – Windows EDR

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain Windows endpoint sensor components using C++ and C#.

• Enhance telemetry collection, detection, prevention, and response features for EDR products.

• Write software that functions in both user-mode and kernel-mode environments.

• Design and manage Windows drivers, system services, and various low-level platform components.

• Introduce new endpoint protection features and consistently refine existing detection technologies.

• Troubleshoot and resolve intricate issues related to Windows internals, kernel interactions, memory management, and system performance.

• Collaborate with detection engineers and security researchers to convert threat intelligence into product functionalities.

• Improve endpoint performance, stability, and resource efficiency across extensive deployments.

• Engage in architecture reviews, code evaluations, and engineering design discussions.

• Contribute to engineering best practices, quality initiatives, and ongoing enhancements within the team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Professional experience in software development on Microsoft Windows; familiarity with systems-level or endpoint software is particularly valuable.

• Proficient in C++ and acquainted with C#, or the ability to quickly acquire skills in C#.

• Strong grasp of Windows internals, operating system architecture, or system-level programming concepts.

• Experience in developing software utilizing Windows APIs and native operating system services.

• Background in Windows driver development, kernel-mode programming, or closely related low-level Windows technologies.

• Proficient in debugging and troubleshooting using WinDbg or similar diagnostic tools.

• Experience contributing to production-grade software or services utilized by customers or internal teams.

• Awareness of secure software development practices and an interest in creating reliable, trustworthy systems.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to articulate technical ideas clearly to teammates and partners.

• Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English within a collaborative engineering setting.
