This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and lead the technical strategy for key product areas, ensuring long-term scalability, reliability, and developer efficiency.

• Spearhead large, cross-functional initiatives from inception through launch and iteration, managing sequencing, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment.

• Design and enhance complex systems that encompass frontend, backend services, and data models; make practical trade-offs to optimize for customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

• Establish and advance engineering standards (architecture patterns, testing strategies, performance budgets, and reliability/observability practices) that can be scaled across teams.

• Create AI-powered experiences utilizing LLMs, embeddings, and related techniques, ensuring they provide genuine user value, supported by strong engineering in evaluation, observability, and iteration.

• Actively identify and mitigate systemic risks, including reliability gaps, performance bottlenecks, scaling constraints, and operational burdens.

• Guide and nurture engineers at various levels; enhance impact by mentoring technical leaders and elevating the standards for design and execution.

• Communicate effectively and influence across engineering, product, design, and leadership, particularly during high-ambiguity decision-making scenarios.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in shipping and operating large-scale production full-stack web applications.

• Proven ability to establish technical direction and drive consensus across multiple teams or workstreams.

• Strong history of delivering large, intricate initiatives with significant dependencies and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Excellent systems thinking: the ability to consider architecture, performance, reliability, and developer experience as an integrated whole.

• Practical experience with AI/ML in products (LLMs, embeddings, or similar), possessing sound judgment regarding evaluation, safety/reliability, and user trust.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and creating clarity by framing problems, defining strategies, and making decisive choices.

• Strong communication skills: able to articulate ideas clearly to various audiences and influence decisions effectively.

• Product-oriented mindset: prioritizing UX and customer outcomes alongside implementation.

• A sense of ownership and a proactive approach to action.

• Familiarity with modern web frameworks (Rails/React/Postgres/AWS is advantageous; adaptability is key).
