Principal Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the current Support/ticketing module and determine if it should be absorbed, wrapped behind an API, or re-platformed.

• Lead the technical assessment of systems underlying legacy client portals and evaluate the exposure of their data through a consolidated client-facing interface.

• Define and assist in the development of the platform architecture, which includes the API/aggregation layer, data pipelines, authentication/authorization model, and integration patterns.

• Document and make decisions regarding build vs. integration for significant components.

• Design role-based access control and data segmentation for Executive, Analyst, and Operations roles across various client organizations.

• Align the access model with the existing Okta/SCIM configuration.

• Collaborate with Product, Security/Compliance, and Data teams on regulatory and PHI/PII handling requirements.

• Write production-level frontend and backend code to establish engineering standards.

• Create architecture documentation and decision logs.

• Provide guidance on build sequencing and phasing based on dependencies and associated risks.

• Serve as the main technical point of contact during discovery and initial build phases.

• Fulfill annual performance review or goal-setting responsibilities and manage assigned special projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering.

• At least 3 years in a principal/staff-level or senior technical lead position.

• Hands-on experience in full-stack delivery.

• Proficient in C#/.NET.

• Familiarity with Blazor or similar component-based .NET web frameworks.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure PaaS services, including App Service/Web Apps, API Management, Logic Apps or equivalent workflow/integration orchestration, Key Vault, and Azure-managed relational databases (Postgres or SQL).

• Experience with enterprise identity platforms such as Okta, Azure AD/Entra ID, or comparable systems.

• Knowledge of SSO, MFA, and SCIM-based provisioning.

• Experience integrating third-party SaaS solutions via REST APIs and webhooks, including bidirectional synchronization patterns.

• Proven track record of producing architecture documentation and influencing technical decisions with cross-functional teams.

• Experience in scoping and sequencing a multi-phase technical program.

• Ability to make decisions regarding build vs. integrate vs. replatform for existing systems.

• Must have high-speed internet access and maintain an office setup.

• Must have a dedicated, secure workspace.
