Principal Software Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop dependable AI systems for production, focusing on prompt/version management, evaluation and regression testing, monitoring for drift/quality, and optimizing cost performance.

• Implement responsible AI practices for the team (privacy, data handling, model risk, human-in-the-loop workflows) and contribute to scalable patterns/standards across services.

• Define architectural modifications that can be executed incrementally, while minimizing associated risks.

• Identify advancements in architecture that guide the software in the appropriate direction.

• Collaborate with various stakeholders to establish architectural priorities.

• Create, repair, and enhance code, particularly high-value code.

• Educate team members on foundational practices, new techniques, and lessons learned from past mistakes.

• Support the team in building code with confidence.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent certification in development.

• A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 7 years in software architecture.

• Proficient in developing SaaS software using various programming languages such as React, PHP, MySQL, etc., and the capability to quickly learn new languages.

• Familiar with the entire software development lifecycle, including version control tools, build management, unit testing systems, and API paradigms.

• Experience in deploying solutions and provisioning environments using best-practice approaches.

• Knowledge of CI/CD and deployment systems.

• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to provide and receive concrete feedback in a tactful and effective manner.

• Well-versed in security best practices, including OWASP Top 10.

• Familiar with static analysis and code scanning techniques.

• Proven experience delivering AI-enhanced features from start to finish in a production environment, including integration with LLM APIs or ML Services, and a history of iterating based on evaluation data and user impact.

• Capability to lead technically in ambiguous problem spaces, making sound trade-offs, mentoring others on AI patterns, and enhancing code quality and operational excellence.
