Principal Software Applications Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Create and implement scalable and maintainable enterprise applications and extensions within SAP S/4HANA, with a focus on BRIM.

• Engage in the blueprint requirements gathering, obtain solution and design approval, conduct configured-solution demonstrations, and achieve final UAT approval.

• Address complex technical challenges and propose innovative solutions.

• Diagnose issues within application frameworks and infrastructure.

• Collaborate with integration and reporting tools to ensure effective system-to-system communication.

• Execute automated testing, debugging, performance analysis, and code quality assessments.

• Draft and maintain technical specifications, configuration documents, test plans, and various feature documentation.

• Provide technical design insights, modernize legacy solutions, and mentor fellow engineers.

• Lead code review sessions, outline deliverables, and guarantee that project milestones are achieved within the approved scope.

• Work closely with internal stakeholders and IT/business teams utilizing Agile methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional software development experience.

• Expertise in SAP application development and implementation.

• Extensive knowledge of distributed systems architecture, microservices design, RESTful APIs, and cloud platforms like SAP BTP.

• Experience in technical documentation and coordinating application enhancements.

• Capability to work independently and collaboratively across IT and business teams using Agile methodologies.

• Proven ability to lead technical design efforts, facilitate code reviews, define deliverables, and ensure milestones are achieved within the approved scope.

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of one or more functional domains of S/4HANA, such as Finance or Order-to-Cash.

• Familiarity with SAP BRIM, including SOM and CI modules.

• Experience with ABAP Cloud, CDS, RAP, APIs, Clean Core extensibility, as well as integration and reporting tools, automated testing, debugging, performance analysis, and code quality tools.
