Principal, Senior Principal Systems Field Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Become a member of our Field Engineering Integration & Test team, contributing to the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 3.

• Provide on-site assistance with flexible work hours, ranging from 8 to 12-hour shifts.

• Deliver support five days each week.

• Be prepared to travel to Wallops Island, VA (approximately 10 months/year) and Baltimore, MD (about 2 months/year).

• Function as the primary technical point of contact (TPOC) for Northrop Grumman on-site.

• Serve as the intermediary between customer site operations and the program.

• Engage in hands-on integration, testing, and system operations.

• Diagnose and relay technical findings and observations.

• Implement test procedures.

• Keep inventory records up to date.

• Produce daily status updates, weekly summaries, and monthly progress reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience; alternatively, an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in place of a degree.

• Fundamental knowledge of radar and/or electronic warfare (EW).

• Experience in operating a radar and/or EW system.

• Proficiency in using RF test equipment.

• Experience collaborating directly with customers and a willingness to work at customer facilities with frequent interaction.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Availability for 100% travel to Wallops Island, VA (around 10 months/year) and Baltimore, MD (around 2 months/year).

• Physical Requirements – Must be willing and able to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, and be comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces (e.g., climbing ladders/towers, working in a container office).

• U.S. Citizenship and a current/active U.S. Government Secret clearance are mandatory.
