Principal Scientist, Immunology

📋 Description

• Drive the research strategy focused on immunology across pipeline programs to bolster scientific narratives and assess indications, synthesizing literature, experimental findings, and translational insights.

• Design and supervise mechanism-of-action studies aimed at clarifying target biology, pathway modulation, and disease relevance through in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models, in collaboration with CROs.

• Collaborate closely with Translational Medicine, Clinical Pharmacology, and Nonclinical teams to ensure that preclinical findings are aligned with the clinical strategy.

• Generate and analyze complex datasets (e.g., cellular immunology, cytokine profiling, pathway analysis), ensuring that conclusions are rigorous and hypothesis-driven.

• Identify and validate new targets and pathways to expand the pipeline, utilizing a thorough understanding of disease biology, emerging science, and internal platform capabilities.

• Assess and prioritize new indication opportunities by integrating mechanistic rationale, the competitive landscape, and translational feasibility.

• Support external collaborations and CRO activities by providing scientific guidance and technical oversight to guarantee the generation of high-quality data.

• Write and contribute to scientific documents, including study reports, regulatory sections (e.g., IND-enabling rationale), presentations, and publications.

• Present findings to both internal governance teams and external scientific forums.

• Keep abreast of advancements in immunology, inflammation, and translational science, applying new insights to enhance program and pipeline strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• A PhD in Immunology or a related field with 8–12+ years of pertinent industry experience is mandatory.

• Profound expertise in immunology and disease biology, especially concerning autoimmune and inflammatory disease mechanisms.

• Comprehensive understanding of drug development, including the influence of preclinical and translational data on clinical strategy.

• Experience with immunological assays and platforms (e.g., flow cytometry, ELISA/MSD, cytokine panels, cellular assays); familiarity with advanced platforms (e.g., single-cell, proteomics) is advantageous.

• Proven experience working within cross-functional teams (e.g., Translational Medicine, Clinical, Nonclinical).

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, demonstrated by a history of scientific publications and presentations.
