
Principal Sales Representative – Hydrogen

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Operate autonomously or collaborate with Account Managers/Executives when project opportunities arise to create initiatives for upgrading current refining or petrochemical assets, as well as pursuing new unit constructions.
• Contribute to the formulation of customer account plans in partnership with Account Managers/Executives.
• Anticipate project demand and revenue from designated accounts.
• Achieve planned bookings and target profit margins.
• Upon identifying a project opportunity, oversee the entire sales process: clarify bids, devise sales strategies, engage and coordinate sales support, submit proposals, and finalize agreements.
• Collaborate with the order management team, production planning, catalyst/adsorbent manufacturing, and service teams to deliver and support the project.
• Document the complete sales cycle in SalesForce.com through lead management, opportunity forecasting, trip reports, call logs, strategic blue sheets, and win-loss analyses.
• Assist Marketing and Technology departments by supplying market insights and win/loss reports promptly.
• Collaborate with business and sales support teams to create relevant sales materials for proposals and customer clarification discussions.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Chemistry.
• Over 7 years of experience in the petrochemical, gas, or refining sectors.
• A strong interest in building a long-term career in commercial sales and/or business management.
• Experience with UOP Refining, Petrochemical, and Renewables is highly regarded.
• Strong capability to listen for opportunities and understand client requirements.
• Proficient in translating the advantages of UOP technologies (solutions) to meet specific customer applications (needs).
• Willingness to travel up to 35% of the time.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
• A desire to create a Development Plan based on Sales Competencies.
• Exceptional teamwork and communication abilities.
• An MBA is highly valued.
• Familiarity with UOP's legal frameworks related to licensing, engineering, guarantees, initial catalyst fill, equipment, and service events.
• A strong self-motivated attitude.
