Principal QA Automation Engineer, Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee a geographically dispersed team of QA automation engineers, including responsibilities for hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career advancement.

• Collaborate with the VP of Engineering on team organization, headcount strategy, and structural design as the QA function expands.

• Establish, document, and uphold Definition of Done criteria in partnership with engineering and product leadership.

• Personally design, develop, and sustain automation frameworks for both UI and API testing across various product domains.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Test Automation, or Software Development in Test (SDET) roles.

• At least 2 years in a formal leadership or engineering management position with direct reports — not solely technical mentorship.

• Required native or advanced proficiency in Spanish and advanced proficiency in English — this is a bilingual position.

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline — or equivalent practical experience.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban); adept at iterative delivery and rapid release cycles.
