Principal Product Manager – Search Relevance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a product roadmap for Search, ensuring alignment with Yelp's overall business goals by keeping up-to-date with industry trends and the competitive landscape, while pinpointing opportunities for innovation.

• Comprehend consumer needs and challenges, translating them into product specifications by collaborating closely with UXR and Data Science teams.

• Spot areas for enhancement, define and prioritize algorithm development projects that align with business goals and market dynamics.

• Analyze extensive datasets to uncover trends and areas for improvement. Utilize data-driven insights to guide product decisions and enhance algorithm performance.

• Oversee the development of Search products from inception to launch. Cultivate a data-oriented culture to assess and enhance product performance.

• Work in partnership with engineering, design, and data science teams to create outstanding products. Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts, fostering innovation in search algorithms.

• Enhance consumer engagement and retention through creative product solutions.

• Demonstrated success and significant experience in leading technical product development within a dynamic, data-driven environment, ideally in the Search domain.

• In-depth knowledge of machine learning principles.

• Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to convert data into practical insights.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to effectively influence stakeholders at all levels.

• A strong team player who enjoys collaborating across various teams, functions, and time zones.

• An advanced degree in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related field, along with experience in addressing large computational challenges.

• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience is mandatory.
