This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish and implement the long-term strategy for Upstart’s pricing platform, facilitating scalable and reusable functionalities across various loan products.
• Enhance the reliability, quality, and accessibility of pricing systems, minimizing risk and averting significant failures in a critical business system.
• Propel the evolution of the platform from a complicated, monolithic structure towards modular, service-oriented systems that boost engineering efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering, machine learning, and product teams across unsecured, auto, and home lending to enable new pricing functionalities and use cases.
• Navigate competing priorities among stakeholders, making informed trade-offs between immediate business requirements and long-term platform investments.
• Discover and unlock opportunities to expedite product development by refining platform primitives and alleviating dependency bottlenecks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in product management.
• Background in building or overseeing backend platforms or infrastructure systems.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams on large-scale, intricate systems.
• Proficiency in defining product requirements and driving the execution of technical products.
• Familiarity with pricing systems, advertising platforms, or similar optimization systems.
• Experience transitioning monolithic systems to modular or service-oriented architectures.
• Background in machine learning, data science, or analytics-driven environments.
• Proven ability to operate in highly cross-functional settings with multiple stakeholders.
