This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the comprehensive design for Therabody.com’s global shopping experience across various markets, focusing on product detail pages, collection and category pages, search and discovery, cart, checkout, and post-purchase processes.
• Establish ecommerce UX patterns, interaction standards, and quality benchmarks for web product managers and engineers.
• Analyze data from analytics, session replays, research, and merchandising feedback to pinpoint customer drop-off points and propose enhancements.
• Collaborate with product and analytics teams to create and prioritize a roadmap for experimentation.
• Develop experiment variants, set success criteria, and evaluate outcomes.
• Enhance and manage Therabody’s commerce design system by creating reusable components and maintaining documentation.
• Coordinate with front-end engineers on specifications, handovers, and design quality assurance, ensuring accountability for delivered work.
• Design within the constraints of the Shopify platform while balancing ideal solutions with feasibility and timeliness.
• Involve design considerations in early scoping and roadmap discussions.
• Conduct lean research and usability tests to verify design direction.
• Elevate the team’s design practice through constructive critiques, mentorship, and leading by example.
• Over 7 years of experience in product or UX design, with a strong emphasis on ecommerce, preferably in DTC, consumer hardware, or subscription commerce.
• Proven track record of leading impactful design initiatives as an individual contributor, establishing direction, aligning stakeholders, and enhancing quality through craftsmanship and clear reasoning.
• A portfolio that demonstrates depth in ecommerce design, including product pages, discovery and comparison flows, and cart and checkout processes, with a clear rationale, constraints, and results behind the work.
• Proficient in Figma, including the development and management of component libraries, variables, and scalable design systems.
• Knowledgeable about AI-assisted design tools, with a critical understanding of their capabilities and limitations in speeding up workflows versus generating misleading results.
• Comfortable utilizing analytics and behavioral tools such as GA4, FullStory, or similar platforms to extract data, formulate hypotheses, and substantiate them.
• In-depth knowledge of Shopify or comparable commerce platforms, including understanding UX limitations, themes, app ecosystems, and checkout constraints.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with conversational or AI-assisted shopping experiences, product finders, or guided selling techniques.
• Experience in designing for both app and web platforms as part of an interconnected ecosystem rather than as isolated surfaces.
