Principal Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and lead the long-term vision for user experience across the Workiva Platform.

• Spearhead AI-driven experiences, including generative interfaces, intelligent automation, recommendations, and decision-support workflows.

• Reevaluate and redesign workflows for complex enterprise use cases.

• Design interaction points that involve human oversight, review, escalation, and decision-making.

• Guide discovery efforts to address ambiguous and cross-functional system challenges.

• Develop reusable patterns, interaction models, and information architecture throughout the multi-product ecosystem.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership on platform direction, service design, data flows, and implementation strategies.

• Steer the evolution of design systems and governance.

• Mentor Lead and Senior Designers while enhancing the design culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in product design, UX, or related disciplines.

• Extensive experience with platform or enterprise-level products.

• Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or 8 years of experience along with a Master’s degree, or a PhD with 6 years of experience.

• Proven history of delivering 0→1 products and successfully scaling them in the market.

• Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy, experience direction, and technical decision-making.

• Skilled in establishing UX best practices for emerging technologies or unclear problem areas.

• Experience in driving innovation in user interface design through experimentation and the use of new tools and processes.

• Familiarity with AI/ML and agentic technologies.

• In-depth knowledge of user-centered design methodologies applied to enterprise workflows.

• Experience designing AI-powered product experiences and human-in-the-loop workflows.

• Ability to leverage AI within the design process for discovery, prototyping, and synthesis.

• Strong technical fluency regarding platform ecosystems, APIs, and design systems.

• Experience operating in large-scale Agile environments.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection for remote work.

• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
