This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Spearhead enterprise-level initiatives for process development, optimization, and scaling across upstream, downstream, or formulation operations.
• Act as the senior technical authority for process automation strategy, advanced control methodologies, digital transformation, and integration of next-generation technologies.
• Create, evaluate, and authorize PFDs, P&IDs, engineering studies, equipment specifications, and process narratives.
• Perform process modeling, statistical analysis, and comprehensive system assessments.
• Direct the commissioning, qualification, and startup of significant process systems, automated equipment, and integrated manufacturing platforms.
• Collaborate with automation, engineering, operations, and digital teams to develop monitoring tools, predictive analytics, and data-driven process control solutions.
• Address critical process deviations, equipment malfunctions, and automation challenges.
• Oversee multi-site technology transfer initiatives across development, clinical, and commercial settings.
• Manage vendors and supervise equipment upgrades, process redesigns, and automation projects.
• Propel continuous enhancement in yield, throughput, cost-effectiveness, and process reliability.
• Mentor, coach, and nurture engineering personnel while contributing to succession planning.
• Provide advice to internal leadership and client executives on process strategy, risk management, and technical planning.
• Shape engineering standards, best practices, and technology roadmaps.
• Over 18 years of process engineering experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
• Extensive background with automated process equipment, including bioreactors, chromatography systems, filtration skids, or formulation systems.
• Profound knowledge of DeltaV, Rockwell, Siemens, and SCADA/PLC systems.
• Proven leadership in process development, scaling, equipment integration, and process optimization across various programs or locations.
• Capability to lead cross-functional teams, manage intricate technical programs, and mentor engineering personnel.
• Experience in shaping process strategies, influencing technical directions, and contributing to long-term operational planning.
• Expert-level comprehension of process engineering principles, mass/energy balances, process control, and equipment design.
• Proficiency in developing, interpreting, and approving P&IDs, engineering drawings, and automation logic.
• Advanced data analysis and modeling skills utilizing engineering and statistical tools.
• Strong communication, leadership, and program management abilities.
• Capacity to handle multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment.
• Regular use of computer keyboard and mouse, reaching, talking, listening, walking, and sitting.
• Ability to lift and transport objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Occasionally required to stand, stoop, or kneel.
• Close vision and capability to adjust focus.
