This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee large-scale, intricate construction projects within the greater North and South Carolina area.
• Manage all aspects of project definition, procurement, design, pre-construction, bidding/awarding, and construction phases.
• Conceptualize, strategize, assess, and maintain oversight of local operations necessary for the successful delivery of projects.
• Supervise all project stakeholders and recruit as well as manage local project personnel.
• A consistent on-site presence in the region is essential for this prestigious role.
• Drive business development initiatives in South Carolina and neighboring areas.
• Identify new business prospects, conduct introductory meetings with potential clients, oversee proposal development, and lead client/project interviews.
• Align all business development efforts with upper management and senior managers focusing on growth within the region.
• Provide leadership and guidance for project staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Oversee staff development, performance management, and team motivation strategies for direct reports.
• Guide the team to realize the client’s vision and ensure favorable outcomes for construction projects.
• Manage the overall client relationship throughout all contract phases.
• Lead business development initiatives, including establishing relationships with new clients, identifying and fostering new opportunities, crafting proposals, and assisting in opportunity development.
• Review and track contracts to confirm that MSI is meeting contract obligations.
• Maintain open communication with the client and stakeholders for ongoing effective dialogue and to ensure a shared understanding of project status, progress, and expectations.
• Develop and implement project standards, providing regular updates to the client about project progress.
• Offer Design Management oversight, collaborating with the project design team to finalize and manage the design process.
• Attend all design meetings and maintain minutes to ensure accountability under the contract.
• Provide Construction Management oversight, including the review and monitoring of project budgets and schedules, assessment of RFIs and submittals, evaluation of pay applications and change orders, observation of construction activities, and resolution of field issues.
• Participate in field walks and OAC (Owner, Architect, and Contractor) meetings as the primary representative of the Owner.
• Monitor and facilitate project commissioning and closeout procedures.
• Manage contract performance with subcontractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Update and report on project budgets, prepare invoices, and forecast project finances, including variance reporting.
• Review and communicate contractor schedule updates to the owner while coordinating with MSI’s internal scheduling team.
• NAAB accredited bachelor’s degree in architecture.
• At least fifteen (15) years of experience in the AEC industry.
• Experience managing a team involved in planning, design, and construction.
• Registered Architect with an active license preferred.
• Additional industry certifications or accreditations such as LEED AP, DBIA, PMP, or CCM are desired.
• Required project management experience.
• Extensive experience across all phases of work is necessary.
• Ability to provide regular on-site leadership on selected projects.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Proficient problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Capability to develop and manage high-performing teams.
• Execute and implement vision and objectives effectively.
• Prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with design software including Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Bluebeam Revu.
