This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more state.
• Oversee the execution of tax equity and preferred equity investments, including hybrids, from the term sheet stage through to closing.
• Identify, structure, price, and document transaction risks effectively.
• Construct and evaluate partnership and hybrid financial models.
• Formulate perspectives on assumptions, sensitivities, and risk scenarios.
• Prepare investment opportunities for presentation to the Investment Committee for screening and final approval.
• Present investment opportunities with adequate support.
• Co-manage negotiations with sponsors and capital partners.
• Collaborate with Legal, Tax, and Risk teams on critical issues and ensure IRS compliance.
• Contribute to the development of investment principles, underwriting parameters, and the IC process.
• Mentor junior team members to foster their growth.
• Leverage technology and AI to enhance work efficiency.
• Engage in post-closing portfolio management and stewardship.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Environmental Studies, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in renewable energy, structured finance, or infrastructure investing.
• Direct experience with tax equity transactions is essential.
• Familiarity with hybrid structures and/or preferred equity is highly advantageous.
• Proficient knowledge of partnership structures and tax and capital account basis issues, including DROs, basis, allocations, safe harbor, and recapture.
• Broad experience across solar, wind, and storage technologies; exposure to emerging categories is beneficial.
• Strong risk assessment capabilities, including identifying, structuring, pricing, and documenting risks.
• Proficient in negotiating transaction documents, including partnership flips, T-flips, and preferred equity; experience with sale-leaseback is a plus.
• Excellent modeling capabilities in partnership and hybrid structures.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple transactions concurrently in a dynamic environment.
• Strong interest in, or proven ability to quickly grow in, technology and AI applications.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Possession of FINRA SIE, Series 79, and 63, or a commitment to obtain these licenses with Crux's broker-dealer sponsorship.
• Previous experience at a bank or developer/sponsor is a strong advantage.
