Finance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Revamp financial processes and establish systems to operationalize them.

• Manage contract-to-cash processes from Salesforce CPQ and Deal Desk approval through contracts, NetSuite, Zone Advanced Billing, invoicing, and collections.

• Analyze quote-to-cash workflows to pinpoint high-impact automation opportunities.

• Enhance Salesforce-to-NetSuite integrations for bookings, orders, and billing data.

• Redesign workflows for deal structuring, approval routing, order booking, invoicing, and collections.

• Collaborate with Deal Desk and Legal to ensure that negotiated terms are accurately integrated into downstream systems.

• Develop reporting and controls to ensure reliable revenue, billing, and accounts receivable data.

• Automate closing activities including reconciliations, accruals, support for revenue recognition, and reporting.

• Optimize procure-to-pay processes encompassing purchasing, vendor onboarding, invoice capture and matching, expenses, and spend categorization.

• Assist with the implementation of Zip as a replacement for Bill.com.

• Create human-in-the-loop AI workflows and quality controls for AI outputs.

• Oversee NetSuite OneWorld configuration, workflows, saved searches, order-to-cash, Zone Advanced Billing, and Avalara.

• Design and manage NetSuite roles, permissions, entity restrictions, user provisioning, and access reviews across subsidiaries.

• Act as the finance-side expert for Zone Advanced Billing, Avalara, Brex, Bill.com, contract, and procurement tools.

• Collaborate on integrations between Salesforce, NetSuite, Pigment, and other systems.

• Own the solution roadmap and oversee delivery across various functions.

• Develop authenticated, hosted, shared, and durable internal applications on the company's infrastructure and repositories.

• Utilize Claude and agentic coding tools with version control; write, read, and debug code.

• Train finance and operations users, produce documentation, and enhance team building capabilities.

• Engage with stakeholders ranging from analysts to the CFO.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive practical knowledge of end-to-end quote-to-cash or contract-to-cash processes within a CRM and ERP environment.

• Over 7 years of hands-on experience with NetSuite OneWorld, including configuration, workflows, saved searches, Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), and order-to-cash in a multi-subsidiary context.

• Familiarity with Salesforce, particularly CPQ, and CRM-to-ERP data flows.

• 8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or finance systems, with a minimum of three years in-house within a finance organization.

• Proven ability to automate finance and operations tasks through scripting, integrations, reporting pipelines, or workflow automation.

• Established track record in designing and implementing LLM-powered workflows or agentic systems utilized by others.

• Demonstrated capability to create and deploy applications for external users; please provide a URL.

• Proficiency in SuiteScript or JavaScript, SQL, terminal usage, and version control.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles, GL structure, financial close, billing cycles, and collections.

• Experience in designing and managing roles, permissions, and entity-level restrictions in a financial system.

• Strong program and project management capabilities.

• Ability to develop a solution roadmap and oversee its execution.

• Competence in navigating loosely defined problems to completion.

• Capacity to teach and mentor others.

• Preferred: Experience with Claude Code, MCP, agent or skill patterns; Python; Boomi or Workato; Pigment, Anaplan, or Adaptive; NetSuite Fixed Assets; billing, AP, procure-to-pay, or quote-to-cash platform implementation; relevant NetSuite certifications; knowledge of SOX, IT general controls, external audit, or public-company readiness; experience in private markets, fintech, or fund administration.
