Principal Internal Communications Manager

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Internal Communications Lead to co-develop the strategic vision and implementation of Twilio’s global internal communications program.

• Work alongside PR/External Communications during key projects and crises to ensure alignment and sequencing of internal and external messaging.

• Oversee strategy, narrative development, and execution of highly sensitive employee communications concerning employment legal matters, ethics and misconduct issues, regulatory or legal actions, and safety and security incidents.

• Lead internal communications related to mergers and acquisitions, strategic transactions, organizational restructuring, and executive transitions.

• Provide counsel on intricate external political and social topics while creating messaging frameworks.

• Collaborate with Legal, HR, Employee Relations, Security, and Corporate Affairs on sensitive issues.

• Partner with Finance and draft communications on behalf of the CFO regarding companywide financial updates and finance organization news.

• Contribute to broader internal communications initiatives, including Q&A preparation, All Hands meetings, and communication campaigns.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or crisis management.

• Demonstrated success operating at a principal or senior manager level within a global technology firm.

• Proven experience as a trusted advisor to communications leadership, influencing program strategy while executing operational tasks.

• Extensive hands-on experience managing highly confidential and sensitive communications, especially concerning M&A, restructuring, legal actions, and complex workplace challenges.

• Exceptional emotional intelligence and composure in high-pressure situations.

• Ability to engage with and influence C-suite executives and legal advisors on sensitive topics.

• Strong project management capabilities, adept at juggling multiple deadlines and stakeholders.

• Established ability to ghostwrite in the voice of various leaders with little advance notice.

• Outstanding storytelling and writing skills.

• Capacity to simplify complex legal, regulatory, or organizational nuances into clear, engaging, and culturally relevant employee communications.
