Principal Integration Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain APIs, services, and enterprise integrations with active coding responsibilities.

• Create scalable, reliable, and reusable integration solutions across diverse systems and platforms.

• Define and implement contemporary integration architectures, including:

• API-first design.

• Event-driven architectures.

• Reusable service and integration patterns.

• Develop reusable integration assets and frameworks that minimize duplication and expedite future delivery.

• Collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver solutions efficiently and effectively.

• Act as the technical lead for offshore development teams.

• Transform architectural designs and technical specifications into actionable development tasks.

• Offer implementation guidance through patterns, reference architectures, and practical examples.

• Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with engineering standards, security protocols, and best practices.

• Promote consistency, quality, and maintainability across integration solutions.

• Integrate AI as a fundamental element of software development, design, testing, and delivery.

• Utilize AI tools to:

• Generate code, test cases, and technical documentation.

• Rapidly prototype integration patterns and solution designs.

• Automate repetitive development, testing, and integration tasks.

• Expedite debugging, root cause analysis, and system comprehension.

• Continuously assess and adopt emerging AI capabilities to enhance engineering productivity and solution quality.

• Function as an AI-augmented engineer capable of achieving significantly higher output than conventional development methods.

• Empower offshore developers through AI-assisted development workflows.

• Introduce tools, prompts, templates, and engineering patterns that enhance team throughput.

• Establish AI-enabled practices that decrease delivery cycle times and enhance consistency.

• Share knowledge and mentor team members on effective AI utilization for software development and integration delivery.

• Drive the adoption of AI workflows throughout the engineering organization.

• Identify opportunities to streamline integration development processes and lessen operational overhead.

• Advocate for automation, reuse, and standardization across integration initiatives.

• Measure and optimize engineering effectiveness through data-driven enhancements.

• Stay updated on industry trends in integration architecture, cloud technologies, APIs, and AI-assisted software engineering.

• Over 10 years of engineering experience with a strong focus on integration and APIs.

• Proven hands-on capability across the full stack.

• Experience in leading distributed and offshore teams.

• Ability to educate and scale AI usage within a team.

• Demonstrated application of AI in software development:

• AI-assisted coding (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.).

• Prompting for engineering tasks.

• Automating development workflows.

• Utilizing AI to enhance the speed and quality of delivery.
