Principal Integration Architect – Apps Development Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Define the enterprise integration and application architecture vision of clients, aligning it with their business and digital strategies.

• Establish standards for integration and application development, as well as reference architectures and governance frameworks.

• Lead the enterprise integration strategy across cloud, hybrid, and on-premise ecosystems.

• Promote the adoption of modern architectural patterns, including API-led, event-driven, and microservices architectures.

• Develop roadmaps for integration and application that support organizational transformation initiatives.

• Serve as the primary authority on enterprise integration architecture across various programs and platforms.

• Design scalable, secure, and reusable integration frameworks that connect SAP, SaaS, and third-party systems.

• Lead architectural decision-making processes that encompass APIs, middleware, messaging, B2B/EDI, and data integration.

• Oversee architectural compliance across delivery teams and strategic initiatives.

• Define patterns, accelerators, and reusable assets for enterprise integration.

• Establish best practices for engineering in application development.

• Advocate for modern software development methodologies, including DevSecOps, CI/CD, automation, and cloud-native engineering.

• Guide the development team in the creation of resilient, maintainable, and high-performance applications.

• Drive initiatives focused on application modernization, rationalization, and reduction of technical debt.

• Facilitate alignment between integration architecture and application engineering models.

• Provide architectural leadership across multiple client programs and transformation initiatives.

• Translate complex business capabilities into scalable technical solutions.

• Foster cross-functional collaboration among architects, developers, functional consultants, and business stakeholders.

• Support planning, sequencing, dependency management, and risk mitigation in enterprise initiatives.

• Oversee design reviews, solution assurance, and quality governance.

• Establish governance for integration platforms and application development at the enterprise level.

• Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and platforms to facilitate innovation and optimization.

• Champion capabilities in automation, AI, and platform engineering.

• Drive continuous improvement in delivery methodologies, tooling, and engineering maturity.

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior technology and business leadership.

• Communicate architectural strategies and complex technical concepts to executive audiences.

• Influence decisions and priorities regarding enterprise technology investments.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in roles related to enterprise integration, architecture, or application engineering.

• Proven experience working at the enterprise or principal architect level, particularly focused on Source to Pay technologies.

• Extensive experience in designing integration solutions within complex enterprise environments.

• Strong background in integration technologies such as SAP Integration Suite / Cloud Integration (CPI).

• Familiarity with middleware platforms like MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, webMethods, Azure Integration Services, or comparable solutions.

• Experience with SAP BTP.

• Deep knowledge of API-led architecture.

• Proficiency in event-driven architecture.

• Expertise in microservices and cloud-native design.

• Understanding of distributed systems architecture.

• Strong leadership experience in application development and engineering.

• Experience in integrating enterprise platforms, including SAP ECC, S/4HANA, Ariba, Oracle, and SaaS applications.

• Expertise in API technologies (REST, SOAP), messaging frameworks, and integration security (OAuth, SAML, JWT).

• Strong knowledge of B2B and EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT, cXML, IDoc).

• Demonstrated leadership in large transformation programs.

• Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement and executive communication.
