Principal Information Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Perform security assessments for containers and Kubernetes environments.

• Create hardened configurations and establish STIG-compliant baselines.

• Develop and sustain security controls for container registries, images, and pipelines.

• Carry out vulnerability scanning, manage remediation tracking, and generate reports.

• Assist with RMF accreditation, continuous monitoring, and security engineering activities.

• Work collaboratively with DevSecOps and infrastructure teams to embed security into CI/CD processes.

• Apply zero-trust security models and secure deployment methodologies.

• Oversee secrets management, certificate rotation, and identity enforcement.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–10+ years of experience in cybersecurity or security engineering.

• Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance or higher; candidates without at least a Secret clearance will not be considered.

• Proficient in Kubernetes security, container scanning tools, and image hardening techniques.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field with a concentration in Information Security or Cyber Security is preferred; alternatively, a minimum of 4 additional years of equivalent professional work experience may be accepted.

• Knowledge of DoD STIGs, RMF, ACAS, Nessus, and OpenSCAP.

• Experience in supporting secure cloud or platform environments.

• Preferred security certifications include Security+, CEH, CISSP, and CCSK.
