Principal Implementation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive implementations for utility-scale solar, wind, and BESS clients.

• Act as the subject matter expert on how technically advanced customers, such as Performance Engineering teams, Asset Management organizations, and Operations leaders, utilize the platform and interpret its outputs.

• Facilitate technical discovery workshops and convert operational requirements and designs into platform configurations, addressing KPIs, dashboards, analytics, data onboarding, and integrations.

• Review and ensure the accuracy of implementation deliverables, confirming that configured data structures and analytics outputs meet industry standards and client expectations.

• Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure production readiness through a Technical Support handoff, being credible by having experienced the workflows being validated.

• Guide team members to enhance renewable energy domain expertise within the Professional Services team.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of implementation methodologies, solution design templates, Professional Services runbooks, and validation standards.

• Communicate renewable industry requirements and field insights back to Product and Engineering based on direct customer interactions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience within the renewable energy sector, specifically in asset management, performance engineering, O&M, or a similar technical role at an IPP, asset owner, OEM analytics team, or renewable monitoring organization, including several years of experience in PV.

• Practical operational experience with SCADA systems, electrical drawings/as-built documents, data historians, or APM platforms; skilled in analyzing time-series data, diagnosing performance issues, and validating data quality in production settings.

• Extensive knowledge of renewable energy performance metrics, including power curve analysis, performance ratio, availability calculations, energy yield variance, loss categorization, and O&M cost structures.

• Proficient in SQL and data structures; capable of independently analyzing datasets and validating platform outputs.

• Technical proficiency in SaaS configuration, APIs, data mapping and transformation, and resolving complex customer environments.

• Proven ability to convert operational requirements into software configuration decisions with accuracy and ownership.

• Excellent customer-facing communication skills, with the ability to engage performance engineers and asset managers at an equivalent level on critical details.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple simultaneous implementations across a global customer base.
