This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee the execution of technically intricate geotechnical and rock engineering projects throughout the mining lifecycle.
• Offer technical guidance on geotechnical engineering and rock mechanics initiatives.
• Execute assessments for rock mass characterization, slope stability, and underground excavation design.
• Create and enforce Ground Control Management Plans (GCMPs).
• Cultivate client relationships and assist in proposal development.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and geologists.
• Draft technical reports and conduct due diligence evaluations.
• Aid in the management of studies for mining projects.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders across Mining Advisory, Environmental and Earth Sciences, Planning, Engineering, and Global Advisory.
• Engage in desk-based tasks alongside both domestic and international site visits.
• Provide sustainable solutions for global mining clients.
• Significant experience in delivering geotechnical and rock mechanics projects within the mining industry.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Chartered Geologist (CGeol), or actively pursuing chartership.
• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology, or a related field.
• Robust background in rock mass characterization, ground control management, slope stability, and/or underground geotechnical engineering.
• Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary projects, budgets, and project teams.
• Proficient in geotechnical assessment methodologies, including empirical, analytical, and numerical approaches.
• Familiarity with geotechnical software such as Rocscience and/or Itasca packages, along with a comprehensive understanding of modeling inputs and outputs.
• Experience in preparing technical reports, due diligence reviews, and mining studies, including adherence to standards such as SK-1300, NI 43-101, and JORC.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and client-facing abilities.
• Strong enthusiasm for mentoring and developing junior colleagues.
• Willingness to travel internationally to project sites on occasion.
