Principal Full Stack Engineer – Fully Remote, India

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the architecture and technical direction for core platform domains utilized by both teams.

• Allocate 60–80% of your time to designing, coding, reviewing, pairing, and debugging in Laravel, Next.js, and cloud environments.

• Lead the technical discovery and execution of high-impact initiatives that span team boundaries or necessitate architectural changes.

• Establish, document, and advocate for architectural principles, coding standards, and scalable, resilient, observable system patterns.

• Promote shift-left testing, improvements in CI/CD processes, production observability, test design, and validation.

• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, collaborative coding, and constructive feedback.

• Assess and prototype emerging technologies such as Vertex AI, GenAI workflows, and data pipelines.

• Represent technical health during roadmap planning, estimation, and decision-making regarding trade-offs.

• Collaborate across both product squads on cross-cutting systems and tackle the most challenging technical issues.

• Partner with Engineering Leadership on long-term architectural strategies and work with Tech Leads on execution and engineering practices.

• Lead the test strategy and validation efforts; manage test coverage, pipeline health, and regression control.

• Facilitate long-term scalability and stability through thoughtful architectural design.

• Drive technical alignment and priorities, proactively address system-level challenges, and support AI readiness along with multi-cloud architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years in software engineering, including experience as a staff/principal engineer or architect in a SaaS environment.

• Extensive expertise in backend engineering with Laravel (Laravel 10+ and PHP 8+) or similar languages, SQL/relational databases, caching, and RESTful APIs.

• Solid frontend design and architectural experience with React/Next.js.

• Experience with scalable and secure cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS (CGP experience is a plus).

• Familiarity with event-driven or modular architectures and containerized environments (e.g., EKS/Kubernetes).

• Profound understanding of software testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with Looker, BigQuery, ML pipelines, or performance tuning of distributed systems (bonus).

• Background in Agent AI Architecture (bonus).

• Ability to enhance feature delivery velocity using Copilot, Gemini, test automation, and scaffolding.

• Experience in building AI-augmented product experiences utilizing LLM APIs and prompt design.

• Guidance on incorporating GenAI into workflows.
